384340 2005-08-29 01:13:00 Whatever you've loaded in Nerovision, did u record the video/sound from the Winfast PVR program previously?

When it didnt record the sound??

If so, the sound/recording options for the tuner, needs to be fixed first .

If u recorded the video / whatever thru the tuner / thru the Winfast PVR program , and there was no sound (originally), changing what I posted previously wont make any difference .

When you try and load the same video in Nerovision (if it didnt have sound in the first place), there wont be any sound later .

Whatever you recorded before, will have to be recorded again, in order to get sound .

384341 2005-08-29 02:01:00 No - I started from scratch (having deleted the Winfast PVR first), and I think you are right - I need to sort out the sound-recording options for the tuner before I proceed.

So yes - back to the drawing board (with the help of my "in-house" expert - who can be reluctant to assist at times!) - tonight when I get home...

Thanks again to all - I'll report later!

Cheers

384342 2005-08-29 02:23:00 Make sure line in is not muted Rob99 (151)
384343 2005-08-29 02:52:00 LINE IN, has nothing to do with it .

This needs to be ticked, however, if you're recording from an external source .

If you plug the external source's audio into LINE IN on the soundcard

As the Expert doesnt have a LINE OUT and DOESN'T plug into LINE IN on the soundcard .

It's plugged into one of the audio connections on the motherboard .

CD/CD1, or AUX/AUX1 .

Depending on what audio connection the tuner audio is plugged into on the mobo, CD/CD1, or AUX/AUX1 needs to be ticked in Volume control as well . So you get audio, when recording from the tuner via the PVR program .

If u don't get sound at all, the LINE OUT hasnt been ticked in Volume control BUT if you can hear with other programs, then ticking LINE OUT isn't the problem .

384345 2005-08-29 07:44:00 Right - home now, reporting back . . .

pctec- capture setting in Winfast PVR is set to line-in and saved .

chiefnz - I also checked the recording volumes in Windows Control Panel - ok there too . Robb99 - nothing is muted that I can see . . .

"Himself" connected the plug (in the Expert kit) to apparently the only available plug on the motherboard . . . (but I'm beginning to wonder) .

Speedy Gonzales - the config button in Winfast PVR doesn't have an AUX option available - so it is "line-in" for both audio out control line and audio recording line . The capture audio option is ticked and master stream is on audio .

So there you are - I'm no further ahead, still getting video capture, but not audio capture . :badpc:

Yours in extreme frustration!

384346 2005-08-29 08:49:00 There SHOULD be more than 1 option u can choose besides LINE IN .

I just checked my PVR program here .

It wont be LINE IN, if theres nothing in LINE IN on the soundcard, and the Expert doesnt use LINE IN at all . This is only if you're recording from an external source . With the tuner .

Click on the arrow on the right of Audio-out control line and audio recording line .

What else is there? CD? CD1? If this is there select it .

If u installed your version off the cd, it may not have (well it should) these options .

I would uninstall it and get the latest version from here

. leadtek . com . tw/eng/support/search . asp?keyword=winfast+pvr&imageField . x=9&imageField . y=10" target="_blank">www . leadtek . com . tw

The one that says this PVR 3 . 0 . 10 . 20 dated 2005/6/1 .

Speedy Gonzales - you are just smashing, and very patient! :)

I used "cd player" in both cases, and hey - it seems to work . I've just done a trial run, and will probably not do any more tonight - 6 am seems not too far away and I still have some reading to do tonight . . .

Thanks heaps .

Good to hear its up and running :)

No worries .

Yup, just as long as u do a test recording from the tuner, and there's sound and video, on the recorded MPEG, its working .
