383916 2005-08-26 23:14:00 I've a home network of 4 computers connected to a Switch - ADSL router. The network is working fine.

Is there a way to control the usage of each computer, say each computer is allocated 1 GB per month. Once this computer has reach the limit it will not be able to connect to the Internet. Is it possible at all?

Cheers

383918 2005-08-27 11:33:00 The only real way of doing this would be to place a firewall PC between your LAN and the router (such as a Linux box). Then you can gather stats on what PC is generating the traffic (generally routers don't have enough detail) and then you'd have a script to just block the PC when the limit is exceeded. gibler (49)
