384692 2005-08-30 22:34:00 Everytime i click on a smiley or the hyperlink icon or even when i try to use the bold font option in the Reply to topic/ start new thread page all that happens is that the thread page goes to the top of the page and thats it.
Anyone got any ideas?.

Using FireFox and XP home.

384693 2005-08-30 23:07:00 It's a firefox bug, I get it intermittantly, It frustrated the hell out of me for a while, and i actually switched to K-meleon browser, but it lacked auto complete which was even more frustrating. Morgenmuffel (187)

384699 2005-08-31 02:19:00 Uninstall then reinstall or just install over the top?I would d/load it, install over the top, and if that doesn't overwrite the problem, i'd uninstall it and then reinstall it. personthingy (1670)
384700 2005-08-31 02:35:00 Firefox Overnight recommends a fresh install...the process of overwriting FF can cause a lot of grief...like maybe the type you are having....

and....

The Mozilla people (they are real persons) tell me that they recommend to NEVER use the upgrade option until they get the overwrite bugs sorted out. Just go for the new version but delete the olde one first.

I have done this a few times, and somehow the bookmarks and stuff never get disrupted. Maybe I'm just fortunate, as I saw a rather long and drawn-out process on doing just that same thing by drilling down into some file area. Never did it that way myself....

Your bookmarks stay, because they are part of your firefox profile, which doesn't get removed when you remove firefox, I think it's under application data or something

C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

I did the delete firefox and replace it thing to beat this problem but it never worked, wonder if i should have deleted my profile
