384573 2005-08-29 21:53:00 After a power cut am getting this on start up:
“Validation failed for c\windows\system 32\VSINIT.dll. You are probably missing a necessary root certificate.” What does this mean but more importantly how do I fix it?! XP Pro.
Many thanks

384574 2005-08-29 22:16:00 Do you use ZoneAlarm?

The ZoneAlarm support page has this to say about that error - see here (download.zonelabs.com).

Looking around the net, you can find help on what to do without having to wait for the ZA support to get back to you. Have a read of this (castlecops.com html).

[edit]Update:
Having a further nosey around ZA support gives you free access to the "Instant Support" feature which is a virtual support agent (aka computer program). If you go here (www.zonelabs.com) and click on the Instant Support button you can ask about "validation failed VSINIT.dll" and you will be given a link which has the same content as the post in my second link. :)

384575 2005-08-29 23:53:00 Jen - hi - thanks for all that - tried it all but cannot open Zone Alarm or any pages on IE (am using another computer for this). The suggestions are to reinstall IE though a link - but as said cannot load any pages! Any other suggested work rounds?
Appreciate your help.
