1357507 2005-08-31 03:16:00 For some reason, I don't have a Windows XP disc . I opened up my PC box, and I found the Windows XP Manual that was distributed with my PC . I have my System Works and Office CD-ROMS, but I can't find my XP CD . I wasn't the one who started up my PC, it was my brother when he first bought it . I called him and asked him if there's a WinXP disc and he said he doesn't remember (that's really helpful) .

Anyways On the Set It Up page in the manual, it says:

When you turn on your computer, the Windows XP setup process starts . You may be asked for some information, so make sure oyu have the following:

Certificate of Authentication (COA) You may be prompted for the product key that appears on the COA . The COA can be found on the back of this book or on a sticker attached to your computer .
--------------------------

So I looked on the back of this book and it says the manufacturer has removed the label from the back of this book and has placed it on a sticker on my PC .

Does anybody know in my case that I just don't have a Windows XP disc?
I uninstalled SP2, and tried to reinstall it from the microsoft website and I had no luck .

25 minutes into the installation it said "ACCESS DENIED" and then stopped byitself, then took another 15 minutes to delete and uncopy all the files it just installed. At 5 AM in the morning, it was the last thing I wanted to see. :dogeye:

I saved the installation file onto my desktop, it's like 250K plus KB. Then I ran it.

Actually, I disabled my Internet Connection after I downloaded it. I wasn't connected to the net while I was installing it, so maybe that's the problem. I'll try again connected this team.

1357516 2005-08-31 04:21:00 Hmmm looks like its all of the file on that site .

If its around 266 or so mb, on your hdd, you have all of it .

What are you installing SP2 on?? Another computer, besides the one you're using now? If another PC, is it the main hdd, or on a slave hdd?

Or are you trying to install SP2, on the computer you're using to reply to these posts?
