| 385321 | 2005-09-02 03:49:00 | I am having problems with my monitor. When I restart my computer, I get no response from my monitor. The power on my monitor is turned on, but I see no pictures. The only way to fix it is to shut down the power of the computer and replug the serial cable from the monitor to the computer. This is very annoying as every time I restart the computer, I am forced to go through this whole procedure. Basically, once the monitor has gone bad, I can't restore it normally as long as I do not unplug the whole thing. What is the problem? I am using Windows XP SP 1, my video card is NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X with the latest driver, and my monitor is an NEC MultiSync FE700+ 17" CRT. |

This sounds like a power management problem. Turning off the power to the computer resets in power saving state you are in. Sorry I don't have a solution, just a new place to look. |
