384954 2005-08-31 12:29:00 Metla - can I ask what sort of connections you were using and what media you wer trying to stream?

How can the audio be any worse than playing it through your speakers via a PC?

DVD-Video (and games, though I expected the games to be poor, but blowing them up to 11 foot really looked bad)

How can the audio be worse?

The same way the audio from an extreme budget intergrated solution from 5 years ago would sound worse then a dedicated 5.1 audio card.....

384956 2005-08-31 12:45:00 A modded X-Box is a very good idea and alot of people do that.

Check your local paper and you can usually find people who offer their services to mod your X-box for you for a very good deal.

384957 2005-08-31 13:38:00 Turn the Zalman down to its silent mode, you only need it on full if your overclocking the cpu .

I have the Zalman 7000B-Alcu led 92mm fan on a AMD 3500 939 cpu on silent mode with no worrys and been playing games for many hours straight 18 hours gaming non stop my personal best before surrending to sleep with no problems . (sleept for a very long time afterwards) .

I have 1x 120mm fan at the front of my case and 1x 120mm fan at the back of the case .

1x 120mm fan on my psu .

Zalman vga cooler VF700-CU very quite 80mm fan in silent mode .

My computer is very quite and I dont notice it .

If you are playing games, watching dvds on your home theater set up you wont notice the noise so much anyway turn up the volume anyway when your watching movies, playing games .

Air cooling is getting so good now there is no reason to go water cooling .

120mm fans are the way to go and a fan controller, and after market vga cooling (can use a passive heatsink on the graphic card),after market cpu hsf 120mm Thermalright,120mm Zalman hsf are all good .

Well on the audio side of things, I'm not really sure how you've hooked it up or what connections you've used.

I'm sure all reviews have suggested the chip used was a decent one, and connecting it using an optical connection has never been a prob for me?
