1390773 2014-12-22 23:50:00 I have just bought 2= 1TB seagate sata 3.5" hdd and I have put one into my desktop pc and it doesn't recognize the drive I have a Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V motherboard it comes up as primary drive how do I format it so as I can use as a slave or put another os onto it? micky (7329)
1390774 2014-12-23 00:23:00 Under computer management -> disk management. You need to format it first before windows will see it. ronyville (10611)
1390775 2014-12-25 23:14:00 I have put 1 of the 1TB hdd into an enclosure how do I format so as windows will see it as windows won't format it hope this makes sense micky (7329)
1390776 2014-12-26 00:06:00 It's not in the picture you posted, try scrolling down more as removable drives are often at the bottom of the list.

Anyway it should show up as unallocated space which you need to right click on and create a partition, then you can format it. Occasionally I've had to right click the drive and initialise as well (on the drive letter to the left of the bit that shows the bars).
