| 1390119 | 2014-12-13 19:15:00 | My home has a wifi router which we use for streaming music etc however we are on the waiting list (12 months so far) to be connected to broadband as we are rural, we need to turn on the wifi settings in our IPhones to stream music but cant access mail as it tries to send via wifi (Which has no outward connection) does anyone know of a setting in the IPhone to make mail send via mobile connection when the wifi is switched on? we have IPhone 4 and 5 Cheers Bob |

What you can do is connect the iPhone to the wifi as normal then get into the wifi settings and view more info on the connection. Touch the i icon to the right of the connection. In there make a note of the IP address and subnet mask then set the wifi to a static IP address then enter in the details you made a note of and leave the rest blank. That will give your iPhone connection to the network so hopefully music streaming etc works but it won't try and use the wifi for the Internet and will know to use the cell phone network. |
