1377930 2014-06-25 11:22:00 Just purchased a Samsung Tab Pro, but find that I cannot download the TVNZ Ondemand app - it doesn't appear in the available app list on the App store when I search. Samsung show that it is compatible with os 4.1 and later so shouldn't be a problem. Called Samsung and they said to contact TVNZ which is easier said than done!
TV3 on demand downloads and plays fine.
Does anyone know what is going on here??

1377931 2014-06-25 11:56:00 Not available for my ASUS Android Transformer T101 running ICS.
Nor is SkyGo, that doesn't work either. :(

1377932 2014-06-25 17:55:00 According to this (tvnz.co.nz)

The app is currently available on the SIII, S4,Note II, and Note III smartphones and Note 10.1, Note 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 3 tablets running Android version 4.1 and above. The reason we've limited it to these devices for now is because they're all capable of running the required version of Android.

For technical reasons, the app is currently not available on Samsung phones that are running earlier versions of Android, such as the S and SII smartphones and Galaxy Tab 2 tablets.

Other Samsung smartphones that are running Android version 4.1 or above, may be added soon.

As TVNZ Ondemand continues to evolve over the next 12 months, we may look to increase the number of phones that we support.

Or see if this works

To download the app, follow these simple steps:

Open up Samsung Apps on your smartphone. To do this go to the home screen, tap 'apps' and then the 'Samsung Apps' icon.
Find 'TVNZ Ondemand' through the search function.
Tap on the TVNZ Ondemand app, click the 'free' button and away you go!

Alternatively, you could download the tablet (play.google.com)or smartphone apps (play.google.com) from Google Play Store

You may need flash?? (www.geekzone.co.nz)

Is it a T101 or TF101?? According to this (help.sky.com)

The only Android tablet devices that are not supported by Sky Go are the Asus Transformer TF101 and Amazon Kindles.

1377934 2014-06-25 23:25:00 Thanks Speedy
I had read those details re the app compatibility and had tried to download the app from Google Play (where it is listed) but it does a 'little check' when you choose it and it comes up with the message that it is not compatible with my device.
Seems a bit odd that it isn't compatible with later Android versions like I am using??? May just have to wait till TVNZ catch's up with technology despite them repeatedly advertising TV Ondemand.

1377935 2014-06-26 03:58:00 You can find a flash apk on the net somewhere and install it then just use a browser and the ondemand website. Works for my nexus 7. Flash is not in the play store and not officially supported on current versions of android but it often still works. It may depend on what android browser you use also.

Not perfect or guaranteed but it often works, I don't remember where i found the installer but it's around.
Similarly I bought the met-service app on my smartphone but it won't officially install on the nexus 7 so I had to find an .apk on the net somewhere to side load it and it works fine. Seems a lot of the time they just haven't gotten around to testing these so they won't let you install them officially.

1377936 2014-06-26 04:26:00 Sky Go does not work on my HTC one M7.

have been able to use the website on the phone by installing the flash apk and using firefox, but it's not ideal...

1377937 2014-07-07 10:46:00 All sorted now. I emailed TVNZ and they replied advising that they had been working on this app and have released an intermediate version that now works and will be an upgrade shortly.
It pays to go to the top and ask.....much to my surprise they took notice!!

1377938 2014-07-07 22:29:00 it needs to be release to the playstore instead of this stupid samsung exclusivity.

I should have to flash it manually when my nexus 7/nexus 5 can run it

found the latest version on geekzone
www.geekzone.co.nz

go to page 7 and to the user Yabanize who posted it
