1377898 2014-06-24 10:24:00 Have someone who runs a small boarding house and wants to setup a shared internet connection. How does it work without the owner get into trouble? They have them in motels, hostels and hotels etc ....

Cheers.

"How to set up public Wi-Fi at your business

Offering wireless Internet access for guests can open new doors for your business . . . .

For motels and hotels, Wi-Fi is one of travelers' deciding factors when selecting where to stay"

It's a turnoff when the students and other people, they I heard were very interested then they asked about the internet . Studying and living there 7 days for near a year or more . . . and no internet . 1 or 2 got their own but the majority walk away .

1377901 2014-06-25 04:49:00 Get a TP-Link TL-WDR3600 and put Gargoyle on it. That will allow you to manage usage per device etc and has great QOS, so someone torrenting isn't going to ruin the connection for everyone else. It's pretty cool.

You can't really block 'illegal' downloads. I'm fairly sure Gargoyle allows you to choose which LAN ports to monitor too, so you could use a separate access point if more coverage is required.
