385861 2005-09-03 22:52:00 I have a number of the old 8 mm movies on reel which I want to download onto my PC and convert to DVD. I have all the necessary software for conversion and burning but dont have a 8 mm player. Can someone please suggest a player which will enable me to transfer the 8 mm to my Hard Drive?

Thanks
Sergio

385862 2005-09-03 23:15:00 Several commercial photo process places offer this service at a fairly reasonable rate. If you don't have a projector and a video camera, it is probably the cheapest and easiest option. Once you have them digitized you can do any editing you want and rewrite to DVD. andy (473)

kjaada, Sergio stated he does not have an 8mm player (projector) so your suggestion is probably not going to help him.

Sergio, the link below is but two of the many options available in NZ.

385865 2005-09-04 02:11:00 I was wondering what to do with my Charlie Chaplin films on 8mm. Then I saw the Warehouse had them already on DVDs. (I've now got 4 DVDs, with three films on each -- only two duplicated ;)). Graham L (2)
385866 2005-09-04 04:53:00 My reply is relevant as 8mm projectors are a dime a dozen and if he has access to a vid camera will be by far the cheapest option. kjaada (253)

But the quality will be much lower. In this case, you will certainly get what you pay for. ;)
