2005-09-03 02:16:00 | im not sure if anyone else finds this annoying, but on progs like windows media player, it displays the name of the song according to the songs details under the file properties (correct me if im wrong, but thats not the important part :p )... what i wanna know is how would i go about applying those song names and artists to the file name itself instead of just "track 1.wma" etc? Im not the only one am i? J

2005-09-03 03:05:00 | that is a really wierd way of doing things - usually people with problems like that don't have any information at all because they didn't retrieve the CD information from the net before they ripped it. Did you add the song properties yourself? If you are connected to the net when you listen to/rip a cd in WMP, it will download the CD info automatically & should give you the correct info & filename

2005-09-03 03:25:00 | what i mean is, the file names themselves remain as the track numbers, however the song names in WMP display the names and album names, artists, etc... just not the file names themselves... J

2005-09-03 03:39:00 | The easy solution is delete those files & rip the CD again - just make sure the cddb query has completed (if all the song titles show up, it has completed) before you start ripping. You do have the latest version of WMP (10) don't you?

2005-09-03 03:52:00 | 3000? I was expecting it to be 1 or 2 CDs. There probably is a program that does what you want, but it will probably be dificult to find. I'll see if I can find anything for you. | Greven (91) | |

2005-09-03 04:15:00 | A good program for editing mp3 filenames (based on tag info) and tag info, amongst other things, is The Godfather (users.otenet.gr). It's freeware and even better, it's logo is a grumpy kiwi :) It has a lot of functionality which can mean it's a little confusing. Just read the documentation and you should be fine.
