| 385696 | 2005-09-03 10:47:00 | We have recently recieved a replacement Samsung 40G Hard drive to replace a faulty Maxtor. We have always had a small (don't laugh) 6.4G Harddrive we just use for backing up important stuff. However when I plug both the new Samsung in (as master) and the Old 6.4G (as slave) the Samsung disappears and the 6.4G is the only drive recognised by BIOS. still as a slave. The Samsung will run fine by itself Any ideas why this is? Can hard drives Conflict with each other? Any help would be great thanks |

Presume you have tried a new 80 wire 40 pin IDE cable with the master and slave using the right connections, although this may appear unnecessary. |
