| 386576 | 2005-09-07 00:44:00 | if you don't know how to partition a drive then i suggest throwing it in the bin and getting a pc that will run a more usable OS. if you really want to use it just repartition and format the drive. |

| 386579 | 2005-09-07 01:12:00 | ive got a 486 laptop. i got it from my friend but theres only one problem hes got 2 partitions. ones blank (very small, too small for even dos 7.1) and i cant even access the other. dont know anything about it. i need to combine it so i can put another os. any suggestions If you intend putting Linux on it, then the partition tool that comes with all Linux distros (in the installation process) will happily delete that for you and combine it. What OS are you going to put in it? |

| 386580 | 2005-09-07 01:36:00 | Does this laptop actually have a usable sized hard drive or a CD drive for that matter? It could get very tedious via floppy :-) | PaulD (232) | ||

Meaning WIndows DOS. The very small partition may have some recovery batch file thing on it. To restore its original O/S. What O/S were you thinking off? If some newish Windows O/S it might not cope with it... |
