386407 2005-09-06 00:31:00 You could try some other media / blank dvds .

Or email Sony and see what that error means .

What else is on the same IDE connection as the burner??

And are you using an 80 wire IDE cable for the burner??

It might also need a firmware update, if it hasnt been updated yet .

It maybe missing some drivers, after u reinstalled .

Are there any ?'s in device manager?

Depending on what the mobo is, did u reinstall the ide inf files / ALL the required mobo drivers, after u reinstalled XP?

386408 2005-09-06 07:02:00 Hi speedy,
where do i find "ide inf files all required mobo drivers" .have sent Sony the problem just waiting. Problem happened when vga driver NiVidiaFX5200 just dropped out. Now reinstalled.no faults with device Manager.Should I upgrade to new drivers?Burner goes through process but quantity of units in mpeg file, e.g. 5.000.000 only burns 16 of these units, then stops.using sony record now wont copy ,add files, does nothing

386409 2005-09-06 07:14:00 If u made the system up, the ide inf files will be on the motherboard cd .

If you didnt make the system up, if the mobo needs the ide inf files, you'll have to find out what the brand/model of the mobo is .

Then go to the makers site . And see which files are available / files you havent installed yet .

Where did u download the Nvidia drivers from? Microsoft or the Nvidia site??

The drivers are now up to 78 . 01 .

Do you know what the brand/model of the motherboard is?
