| 386960 | 2005-09-08 20:15:00 | I have some concern over an Acer Pc I bought about 9 months ago. It is a RC 500. I bought it because it had most things that I wanted in a PC. TV and FM reception, Memory card slots, XP operating system and enough specs for my meger needs. It has been back for repair twice already. A new motherboard fitted the first time and just got it back after 3 weeks with a new CPU having being installed. We dont play games on it but my wife does like to Play Scrabble on it. Last night after playing for a couple of hours, Just as she was ending the program it shut down completley and the computer would not restart. I unplugged it several times and after a couple of minutes restarted but the top of the computer was quite hot. Prior to it going for a new Cpu a secondary fan would switch on and boosting the cooling however this is not happening now. My feeling is that playing the game caused it to overheat and it shut down because of it, but I am no Teckie just frustrated at the computer. As a matter of interest my wife was playing her Scrabble Game the last time the computer went and had to have a new CPU. Perhaps we should go back o the board game. | Jaybee (6629) | ||
