| 386924 | 2005-09-08 11:34:00 | got samba set up on my gentoo machine but file transfer between my gentoo machine 500mhz and my winxp machine 1.7ghz is very slow normally i get around 600Kb/s some rare ocassions it goes to nearly 1000 but sometimes it only goes at 300Kb/s which is rather painfully slow the network is set up on full-deplux at 100mbits/s when the gentoo machine was running winxp transfer can go around 1000kb/s also i remember a long time ago when i put mandrake 9 on the 500mhz machine it nearly went to 4mb/s there's so many things that can make samba slow.. i'm hopeing if someone have similar setup to me and wonder if they experience the same problem |
