386784 2005-09-08 01:12:00 Hi,

I've made a webpage banner by using a free online banner maker. the banner is saved in GIF format. it says i need to add the HTML code that will control what, if anything, happens when your banner ad is clicked. Simply add <A HREF=" immediately before the <IMG SRC> tag and then add </A>" target="_blank">someplace.com"> immediately before the <IMG SRC> tag and then add < immediately after the <IMG SRC> tag. Of course, change "http://someplace.com" to the full address of where people should be sent when they click.

What editor do i use to add this HTML code? a free editor would be great.

386787 2005-09-08 08:41:00 <a href="www.someplace.com"><img src="images width="400" height="433" border="0"></a>

The img src will of course be wherever your banner is located, and width and height whatever dimesnions your image is.

386789 2005-09-09 00:51:00 You don't edit the GIF itself, you edit the html document that references the GIF. By the way, don't use capitals in your html code. vinref (6194)
386790 2005-09-09 02:52:00 Lance... just clarify a few things: Is the banner going on to your own webpage? if not, you just normally need to provide the website owner with the location of your image, and the url it needs to link to. Of course the banner image needs to be located on an accesible Internet server somewhere, not on your computer.

If the website is your own, then it's dead easy to do what you're after... let us know.

386791 2005-09-10 03:23:00 yeah i'm going to advertise on a website. not my own website. thats why i needed a banner. so i'll just send the banner to the website and tell them to URL and i want the banner to open when a person clicks on it.

thanks guys.
