He's checked for spyware (nothin'), connectable using dial-up (just can't view web pages), account is active, and cables are fine. What is Xtra's DNS anyway?Ah, it is getting confusing. The more information given, the easier it is to help. So he is not using ADSL then like you first said? How can he view Xtra's webmail if he cannot view webpages? So he can download and send emails from outlook express? What did he use to check for spyware?

the more comman problem is a nasty stuffing up the winsock setup. some of the antispyware programs can tell if its damaged. what antispyware did he use? what antivirus is he running?

386866 2005-09-08 09:33:00 Eeeek! He uses Yahoo! Webmail (and doesn't know how to set it up on Outlook/Outlook Express), used SpybotS&D and Trend PC-Cillin Internet Security 2005. tony_young480 (4942)
386867 2005-09-08 09:43:00 can he update the pc-cillin?

in spybot go into advanced mode, tools, tick the winsock box then go to the winsock tab, look for anything that dosn't have a green circle/tick next to it.
