I've given up on linspire and gone to mepis (but am having a few problems with that too)Cool! - apart from the problems :p

Anyways, thanks for that Nigel.

Seems there's a few of us settling on Mepis, i've been running it for a few months now, and apart from one problem that was purely the result of my own stupidity, i haven't had any real problems. :D

387326 2005-09-11 23:39:00 In regards mepis I keep getting the same problem when i try and install anything

I'll probably put up a new post about it

But on the off chance it is something you have come across

I get a message similar to the following when i try doing anything through apt

This installation run will require temporarily removing the essential package e2fsprogs due to a Conflicts/Pre-Depends loop. This is often bad, but if you really want to do it, activate the APT::Force-LoopBreak option.
E: Internal Error, Could not early remove e2fsprogs

I can't find a solution to this

I have tried

apt-get clean (made no difference)

apt-get upgrade (got the same error once it downloaded the upgrades)

What app are you getting? (or not getting as the case may be)

387328 2005-09-12 22:17:00 umm It happens with anything I try to do

asked over on mepis lovers, and it appears the best solution is to get a newer version of mepis and install that
