I just shut myself out of the new installation on a new HDD. I have installed W2Kcomplete with all updates and started installing the network and work progs.
My mouse is a optical intellimouse explorer3.0 and has 4 or 5 buttons. I had set one for delete and one for enter as I have on this HDD(which I need for the design prog). Now for some reson the delete wasn't working which I had also happen before so I had a look at the drivers and installed the "right" intellimouse explorer3.0 driver. I did a restart and that is it.
I can't work with the key board either as that seems to be out aswell.
I tried through safety mode, no chance either because through my network I have to enter a password and keyboard and mouse are not working.
Has anyone an idea how I can get around this??
Any help is very much appreciated

Thanks

Gion

387445 2005-09-11 05:52:00 Mouse and keyboard not working? You do have them plugged in correctly? Not mouse in KB port and vice versa?
Try another keyboard....

Good question! I am a bit unsure, but because I had forgoten to do it I could not start up (the pc asked for it)and so most likely I did it right.
Any other possibilities?

Either your PS2 ports have killed themselves which seems a bit unlikely. If it was one or the other - but both?
Unplug them, plug them in agagin, making sure they are each in the corrct port. And then try another keyboard. That will tell you whether its the KB or the port.

I must'f done it right as I use the same machine with the old HDD right now to write this?
This thing with the mouse happen once before as I mentioned but I was able to work with the keyboard and reinstall the driver.
Ideas??-is the only way reinstall the lot once more?
