387292 2005-09-10 19:14:00 I use the Davies weather station which has facilities for dialup downloads. i just have it plugged into usb/com port adaptor and it automatically downloads everyhour Hd it for years

You might be able to get in touch with info@r2 to get some of the other weather stations added, perhaps a comprehensive listing (eg interactive map) and info on how to setup your own weather station would be offspins of that :)

Rick run's the station from his home in Grey Lynn, and reports for 95bfm (auckland radio station).
It looks like he uses something called "weather display"

387296 2005-09-12 01:26:00 And if anyone's thinking of building one, not buying one, have a look at the Dallas range of "onewire" chips. There are a lot of people using them. Try "one wire weather station" in Google (google.co.nz), also "onewire" instead of "one wire". Just look out for the otherwise magnificent temperature sensor (DS18b20). The B7 batch of them can lose calibration on power up. :( It's possible to work around it, but ... Graham L (2)
