387267 2005-09-10 04:56:00 Am I completely P.................. off !!!!
Recently had a DVD Burner and reader installed and decided to try out the backup programme in Nero. After waiting nearly three hours for the thing to : 1. Copy all folders and files. 2. Compress all folders and files. 3. Verify all folders and files. 4. Burn to DVD RW , the thing stopped a quarter way through the burning process with the blunt and unexplained message ( ERROR UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE BURNING PROCESS ).
No explanation. No help file to help. Just a blunt statement leaving me wondering what to do.
Anybody got any ideas ???

387269 2005-09-10 05:23:00 Never tried it. SOunds hideous. Why not just back up your data the normal way with Nero? Should be able to fit quite a bit on a DVD. Then buy several more... pctek (84)

This is NERO that I am using. It IS their backup programme.
Don't understand what you mean by their NORMAL way.
Please elucidate.

Launch Nero. Insert DVD/CD whatever - choose Data Disk. Click ADD to select the files to write.
Then select BURN.
As in the ordinary write files to the media rather than its backup feature.

Ok this might be ok for just copying files but I think a true backup for not only files but programmes too, has to have all the stuff that goes into the registry for it to really be able to reconstruct the original programme and its files. Thanks anyway.

Use Ghost for the main backup of your drive - and Nero (file burn method) for the day to day data.
