| 388062 | 2005-09-13 07:49:00 | Xtra are offering a security suite which proclaims to fully protect one from all the nasties. I have been using AVG and Zone Alarm. Should I scrub theses in favour of the one package which I undersatand is McAfee based. Any expert opinions please ? |

Nortons www.symantec.com how you should mention sucker and Nortons in the same post If you want to improve your system safety-wise... Keep windows updates on (free) Firefox Browser and Thunderbird Email client (free) - or if you don't want to change from Outlook Express and IE... keep them updated too (service packs etc) Spybot (free) ZoneAlarm (free) AVG (free) Scan regularly and keep all antispyware and antivirus proogrammes up to date (free) Don't open emails you have suspicions about or arent sure of the sender |

| 388067 | 2005-09-13 08:59:00 | I read every email with the mailwasher first, delete the ones I don't want and then every couple of days just download the ones I want to keep or reply to. Nothing gets past me that way. Nothing gets into the computer. Don't open emails you have suspicions about or arent sure of the sender |

| 388068 | 2005-09-13 09:02:00 | Keep windows updates on (free) Nah, that doesn't help at all, it just makes you feel better Firefox Browser and Thunderbird Email client (free) - or if you don't want to change from Outlook Express and IE... keep them updated too (service packs etc) Spybot (free) ZoneAlarm (free) AVG (free) Scan regularly and keep all antispyware and antivirus proogrammes up to date (free) Don't open emails you have suspicions about or arent sure of the sender yep, agree with those ones. And watch what you download - none of the above stops deliberate download of nasties. |
