388044 2005-09-13 06:10:00 I successfully captured the movie (video and sound) from a video tape using Winfast PVR. Because the tape was recorded from TV, it has the ads in it, I have tried to trim out the ads using NeroVision. I have done this successfully, but after burning to DVD, I find that the sound is out of sync with the video and I have the odd sensation of watching the video that obviously doesn't match up with the sound - just a couple of seconds out, and only after the first lot of ads were trimmed out!

Any ideas to fix this problem? :help:

Cheers

I have found that Nero never gets it right. As the video gets further and further along the sync gets progressively worse. Maybe because it was designed for US use and NTSC and not PAL.

388046 2005-09-13 07:40:00 I did the same edit with Ulead VideoSudio 8 VideoStudeo Editor - and the pesky thing wouldn't burn.... :badpc: R.M. (561)
388047 2005-09-13 07:42:00 Works fine with me. Nerovision will burn as PAL or NTSC.

Try defragging the hdd if u havent defragged recently.

Whats that got to do with the price of fish???? I use NTFS and it does not need defragging. Also it is on a RAID0 array and can more than keep up with the stream of data being written.

Nero has a known problem with syncing issues. Do a search on google and you will find many people with exactly the same problem and while some of neros fixes report having fixed the problem it still has not 100%. It will work for a few (mostly in the US) but not all.

388049 2005-09-14 05:54:00 Simple .

Sound travels at about 1000 ft/sec or so, so if the speakers are kept at the appropriate distance in front of (or behind) the screen you should be able to maintain synch .
Get long cables for the speakers, and a battery powered trolley (or mobility scooter) to carry them .
You might need to adjust the volume .

Who needs computers?

388050 2005-09-14 05:55:00 Well as I said, I have no probs with video and sound here .

And Im not in the US, so you're wrong!

And whats NTFS got to do with it? Nothing .

Having hdd's formatted in NTFS, doesnt mean it doesnt need defragging .

388051 2005-09-14 11:21:00 ive had the same problems as well with NeroVision, some dvds come out fine and some comeout with major audio sync probs, i would suggest using Ulead Dvd Factory 3, i dont think youll have the same problems. Term_X (560)
388052 2005-09-14 20:15:00 Yes, Ulead Dvd Factory 3 edits just fine - BUT I can't then burn the finished product (or an ISO file) . It throws up the error message:
"Source file had problems (5003)" then "Cannot open file"

Hence why I was trying to edit in NeroVision .

388053 2005-09-14 21:26:00 Did u select open saved project or disc image, in Nerovision Express, which does support ISO??

If it is a video ISO??
