387900 2005-09-12 11:48:00 Hi,

When I import an image I made in photoshop (.png) into MS Word XP it looks like absolute crap. Like Word has resized it and compressed it or done something nasty to it.

How do I get it just to leave the picture as is without doing anything to it?

The picture I made looks fine if I view it in Irfanview, so MS Word is doing something to it.

Any ideas?

387901 2005-09-12 11:55:00 Change it to a .jpg or a .tiff or .gif zqwerty (97)
387902 2005-09-12 11:56:00 .png's are for the internet and web pages. zqwerty (97)
387903 2005-09-12 11:59:00 No its doing it to .bmp, .tif and .jpg as well.

Hmm gif works... but thats lossy and it doesn't save all the colours...

387904 2005-09-12 13:05:00 Are you importing or copying and pasting? You must use the import instruction. zqwerty (97)
387905 2005-09-12 13:07:00 Hmm gif works... but thats lossy and it doesn't save all the colours...Gif is only "lossy" when it's reducing the number of colours. If you have an image that's 256 colours or less it retains it's originality.

Care to share the image in jpg format with us so we can try it?

387907 2005-09-12 22:31:00 Why dont u just use View / Toolbars / tick drawing .

Type in the headers/titles u want and use the Wordart Gallery.

It'll give you the same thing.

387908 2005-09-13 01:19:00 Because wordart isn't as good as photoshop. vapo (5203)
387909 2005-09-13 01:57:00 That jpg u posted looks alright in Word here.

I just saved it and inserted it in Word.

Nothing wrong with it.

Maybe you havent got enough colours / or your resolution isn't high enough or something.

Did u go through insert/picture/from file to insert the jpg into Word?
