388529 2005-09-15 09:34:00 My keyboard has a key which when depressed switches off the computer.

Of late, when this key is depressed, a blue screen with about 3 lines of white text appears for around 1 second, the computer switches off and instantly reboots again.

My op system is Win 2000 Pro and though I have looked, I do not seem to have a disk which might need reloading. Except the comp came with a proggie called "Key Mastro" ?, but it does not have a auto shutdown feature.

How do I read what must be an error message that flashes by when the key is depressed? I have looked through Administrative Tools, but cannot see anything that might help.

I've used the movie feature on my digital camera to do this successfully.

May we know, which "key" were you refering too? Is it the "sleep" key? Post a picture of that key if you do not know what "key" is it.

Cheers :)

388532 2005-09-16 05:24:00 Key Maestro is the program for your keyboard which controls the extra multimedia and function keys such as the shutdown/hibernate key . Try the manufacturer's website of you keyboard and see if you can download a new driver. Uninstall the old driver fully before installing the downloaded one. Jen (38)

This will make Windows halt on the blue screen rather than rebooting. Jen (38)
