388603 2005-09-15 06:55:00 Looking for drive image software and some recommendations of products. I have been looking around the net and found some. What do you all think of
Acronis True Image 8.0
R-Drive Image 3.0
Norton Ghost 10. (I'm not keen on Nortons Products)

When I buy 3 or 4 PC I want to be able to install 1 PC and image the others, either by DVD or I would prefer to be able to load image off network. I am not worried about incremental disk backup as user data is backed up on server.

At the moment I am tending to lean towards Acronis True Image.

Advice anyone??

388604 2005-09-15 07:10:00 Have been using it for a while now, been very handy while I've been upgrading the old pc- ME to XP. Got ME going a few times until I got sick of it.Have already reloaded an image after XP decided to throw a wobbly.Usually takes about 5 minutes. Neil McC (178)
388605 2005-09-15 07:16:00 even though you are not that keen on ghost, id still recommend it, i have version 9 though. Arcons Drive image is also quite good, a few people on pf1 have this... Prescott (11)
388606 2005-09-15 07:37:00 I still got my old copy of DriveImage 5 which I got through APC Mag... I'd use the new version but they require that dang diddly ang Dot Net framework. bob_doe_nz (92)
388607 2005-09-15 07:48:00 I had a windows crash recently and Acronos saved the day. Some time ago I bought an external hard drive and my backup on this using acronos allowed me to restore everything I had on my hard drive. I don't know what caused the crash but somehow my entire HD just disappeared. There were no virus's detectable so it is still a mystery to me. heaton (3697)
388608 2005-09-15 07:49:00 Forget Ghost unless its the old one. The new one is a renamed Drive Image. pctek (84)
388609 2005-09-15 08:32:00 I run Ghost 2003. Seems to run sweet as and is quite fast. Scouse (83)

You've made the right choice - Acronis True Image 8.0 is excellent. I've bought it a while and am very happy. If you end up chosing it - go to Froogle or Deprice to see what's the best deal currently is. I got my copy at 25% off
from this place here - www.deprice.com
but there may be other good deals around
