389483 2005-09-18 09:37:00 New motherboard , cpu , and 2 x formatted previously used hard drives in master / slave configuration.
On booting, NTLDR is missing. Press Cntrl/Alt/Del. to restart.

Restarts and goes thru same process in circles.
Please help.

389487 2005-09-18 23:51:00 Might pay to make sure the drive with the OS/MBR is the first in the sequence, e.g. IDE0 Master.

If you have not touched the bios then make sure no floppies are in the drive. If you can get into the startup menu, press F8 after BIOS and Bootup sequence, then select Last Known Good Configuration and see if that works.

Are you dual booting?

If not we could try restoring the MBR, which requires a bootable XP CD. If you haven't changed any Hard Drive settings, then bootup with the XP CD, wait till it's finished it's loading sequence etc, you'll get to a point where it'll ask you to choose Recovery Console (Not the Press F2 for automated rescue/recovery). From there you will be in a command prompt.

Just type, FIXBOOT and then FIXMBR and REBOOT or is it RESTART one or the other. Hopefully that's all you need to do.

Cheers,

KK
