388746 2005-09-16 13:10:00 ive decided to ditch msn messenger and ive moved to Gaim, ive heard there is some encryption add on for gaim. where do i get this? and how do i know it works? and do the other people who im talking to need gaim aswell in order for it to be encrypted? Prescott (11)
388747 2005-09-16 14:17:00 You mean the SILC (secure internet live conferencing) plug-in? It is included by default in the Windows port, and most pre-built binaries for *nix. If your are building from source then you will have to specify it.

See the GAIM faq (gaim.sourceforge.net/faq.php#q4), and Silcnet (silcnet.org).

Edit: But wait, there's more. There are two encryption plug-ins I never knew about at the GAIM site.

388749 2005-09-17 00:59:00 Do you want to encrypt a conversation or files sent over GAIM?
What OS are you running?

388750 2005-09-17 02:30:00 oh yeah, running windows xp, and wanting to encrypt conversations Prescott (11)
388751 2005-09-17 06:05:00 I've played around with the Gaim encryption feature for a short time. Both parties need to be using encryption. The Windows plugin can be found here (gaim-encryption.sourceforge.net/) and this is the project page (http:). Jen (38)
