388753 2005-09-16 13:26:00 Hi,

Recently I found a website where I can play chess online against other people. There is a problem however that after a few minutes of playing, the window automatically closes. I tried visiting other chess sites but the same thing happens - the window closes after a while. The other internet explorer windows remain open though. I wondered if it could be a virus in my computer that was causing this so I used AVG anti-virus to scan the whole computer. However, at the end of the scan there was no virus found. How can I solve this problem? Is it a virus that cannot be detected by AVG?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thankyou,
Michael

Then someone can check it out.
Have a look at the FAQs particularly the one on spyware.

388755 2005-09-17 02:29:00 Try other Internet browsers such as Firefox and check out the chess websites to see if the same thing affects Firefox as well. No, not proliferating Firefox, just wondering is the problem due to browser's fault.

Cheers :)

388756 2005-09-20 05:37:00 The website is www . clubxiangqi . com (http://www . clubxiangqi . com) . You would have to sign up first but its free . I'll try firefox if it's found to be a browser problem .

Thanks

388758 2005-09-20 08:56:00 OK, I signed up had a game.. lost badly lol.. but the window stayed open.
I did this using Firefox. If you want to keep using IE, might I suggest you get the latest Java (Sun is better) from here (www.java.com)
If you have the latest Java, then go to the Control Panel Java applet, and empty the temp files
