388668 2005-09-16 06:09:00 Ok, this maybe a stupid question but as they say, if i knew........

What I'd like to know is there a program that allows you to set some sort of alarm for an appointment etc.
What i was wanting it for was so that when i have an auction closing soon on trademe that i want to bid on, it would beep or say something etc to let me know to log on and get ready. Emails are no good cause i'm quite often playing games on my computer, doing home work with the kids etc. As well as alerting me to an auction closing soon i'd also like it to alert me for other things as well like picking up the kids from kindy and school, doctors appointments etc.
The computer is always on but i'm not always online.

I'm not sure if it can be done in an office program. I dont have microsoft office on my computer but I do have Open Office. Is there anything in open office that can be used to do this?. I have no experiance with it so have no idea where to look.

Anyone know if this can be done and if so, what programs are there that can do this type of thing.

Thanks.

388669 2005-09-16 06:18:00 I use Longhorn Systray Clock, which can be found here (www.neowin.net)

It features a calender which you can add events on a single, daily, weekly, monthly basis. A message pops up when the alarm is triggered.

Does it have the option to use a sound for the alarm as well so that i could hear it if away from the computer?

Yes by default it plays the chime.wav file. This can be changed in the LClock properties, under the 'other' tab.
