| 389789 | 2005-09-20 22:28:00 | I use Classic view in win xp with sp2. My files have always been set to "details" Now when I open explorer I get the "icon" view. I reset it to details and click on "apply to all files", but it only changes the view in the open file. And next time I open this file it has reverted to icons again. What has gone wrong???????????????????? Bloody windows |

| 389791 | 2005-09-21 01:14:00 | This apparently was fixed in SP2 but if you have SP1 or no SP then: " Windows doesn't seem to remember users specific folder settings . " After a while, it seems that Windows switches back to the default (of large icons) . By default, Windows is designed to remember 400 different folder settings (200 local folders and 200 network folders, for a total of 400 folders) . Windows will start to re-use these stored settings on a 'Most Recently Used' basis, once the folder limit has been exceeded . Reset it: delete the following registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Shell \ BagMRU HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Shell \ Bags HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ ShellNoRoam \ BagMRU HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ ShellNoRoam \ Bags Restart Windows . Then set them up how you like . |

| 389795 | 2005-09-21 11:55:00 | While on the subject of Windows Explorer...After using this in Win98se, where it displayed at the bottom bar, when a file or folder was highlighted the file or folder sizes in mb, now I find with WinXP Explorer it does not. Is this a function of XP, or can I get it going in WinXP? |
