| 390009 | 2005-09-20 13:59:00 | A few days ago I got computer replaced with new one after old one died. They gave my old hard drive back...so can I install the hard drive from the old computer into new computer so that I can run both at the same time or at different times....??? | PhoenixIce (8941) | ||

All you have to do is re-install Windows / whatever on the new hdd, and change the jumper on the old hdd to Slave, and then go into the BIOS and put secondary IDE slave on AUTO . The old one gets connected to the new one's IDE cable . . Then if u want to use the old hdd as a spare hdd, once its running in Windows, format it . Thats if u dont want anything off it, or u dont want to boot from it . |
