| 389703 | 2005-09-20 12:08:00 | Hi All I got a computer from my wife's work and stupidly put xp on it,now i cant use it cause it wants to be activated and has past the required date I do have a copy of 98se but cant figure out how to install it over xp?? any help is appreciated. Thanks Keith |

| 389704 | 2005-09-20 19:20:00 | you hav to use a boot floppy and fdisk the system and remove ANY partitions then recreate a partition and format it to fat32 then reboot using the floppy and chooose boot with cdrom support option then stuff in your 98 cd and type in 'setup' then you should be away.... | drcspy (146) | ||
| 389705 | 2005-09-21 02:38:00 | Win98se cd is bootable so you don't need a boot floppy. Just put the cd in, start PC and it will boot from CD. Keep an eye on the screen as you will have to choose to boot from cd. Once loaded type fdisk and delete NTFS partition, create new partition and format as per drcspys post. If it will not boot from the CD then you will need to change the boot order in the Bios. | berryb (99) | ||
