| 389635 | 2005-09-20 05:26:00 | My son was given Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for his birthday, but the onboard graphics on the MS-6390 motherboard can't cope. The motherboard has an AGP and 3 PCI slots (all of which are unused AFAIK). The game specs require a 32MB Direct 3D compatible video card (GEForce 2 or equivalent). QMB have the following cards at NZD59 plus GST. Are they what I need and can a total ignoramus put them onto the motherboard without difficulty? STLab Geforce MX400 32MB PCI VGA Card GECUBE RADEON 9250 128MB AGP 8X Video Card With TV-Out , DVI MSI RX9250-TD128 Radeon 9250 128MB Many thanks in advance Chris |

STLab Geforce MX400 32MB PCI VGA Card GECUBE RADEON 9250 128MB AGP 8X Video Card With TV-Out , DVI MSI RX9250-TD128 Radeon 9250 128MB Many thanks in advance Chris Ive found the Geforce cards more problem free than the Raedon, but i guess others will say different, you wanna check if your AGP is 4x or 8x you can use a 8x card in a 4x AGP slot but you wont get the full performance the card is capable of. the TV OUT is a bonus if you have a DVD rom cause then you can connect it to your tv and watch DVDS on the tele :) But i would go for at least the 128MB card, case you want to play other games in the future alot of which you need the xtra MBs |

| 389641 | 2005-09-20 10:40:00 | If price is an issue, at least make sure the onboard video adapter memory setting is set to the max, from memory on your board it is 32MB max. Go into the BIOS settings and make sure it is set to 32MB. Cheers, Jeff. |

Incapable of displaying modern games at anything near the level they are designed to be. They are also deemed as below spec by game devs and thus it is becoming more and more commen for there no be no suport for them in games. So, to wrap it up. Poor picture quality. Poor perfomance. Not supotered by new games, and won't even run many on the market. Strange isn't it, That I would actually have reasons for recomending the thread starter doesn't touch a G4MX card no matter what the price is.... |

In Control Panel>System Properties Virtual memory is set at "Let windows manage...". Does that have a bearing on the problem? |
