| 389254 | 2005-09-19 04:16:00 | Toshiba Satilite Notebook; Windows XP home, wont boot, error missing file system32\hal.dll computer wont boot into safe mode copied file onto a cd tried copying from cd to c:\windows\system32 - received error "access denied" pulled the hard drive, attached to desktop, tried copying to \windows\system32 from there also failed "Invalid MS-DOS function" any suggestions. I am trying to restore the system32\hal.dll without reformating or running the recovery cd. again the computer will not boot at all, not even into safe mode. Cheers |
