390217 2005-09-22 12:31:00 Can anyone tell me how to stop the memory counter, at the start ?
It does stop itself after about 4 minutes or if i hit the escape button it stops.
any help is much appreciated,

390218 2005-09-22 13:17:00 The mem count at boot is controlled by the bios. You may have an option in your bios settings to disable it. If not, you cannot stop it. allanl (1957)

The boot memory count is bios controlled. You can probably speed it up. I am guess you have an older machine?

Look in the Bios for a setting "Fast boot" or "Quick boot" and enable it. This should skip through the count a lot faster.

Also most boards allowed you to hit "ESC" and skip the memory test which is actually what it is doing.

Yes it is an old mobo, i have been trying to get going just for a spare pc, its up and running now with just a few minor problems like the above, i will check in the settings and see what happens.
