390096 2005-09-22 10:44:00 Installed EVEREST Home Edition on this computer running XP Pro with SP2. Everything is fine ....

But, after re-starting the machine, Windows "detected" new hardware - and of course, it cannot find the appropriate driver.

Checked with Device Manager and found "Lavalys EVEREST Kernel Driver" with a big yellow ? , found also "HTTP SSL" with the yellow ? They are all listed under "Other Devices"

What's all these about?

Can someone enlighten me, please.

Cheers

390097 2005-09-22 10:56:00 Bit odd alright. I've installed Evererst home on several machines, all with W98 and never had any problems. Not very expert admittedly but I'd do the "unimstall and reinstall" first, HTH..m mark c (247)

390099 2005-09-22 13:00:00 Uninstalled Everest and downloaded and installed the new version . No more 'detected new hardware' problem .

Any idea what is this "HTTP SSL" ? it is still there and I have to disable it from device manager .

390102 2005-09-22 22:18:00 If I am not wrong, this "HTTP SSL" is a software issue and not hardware related issue. Then, why is it shown in the hardware device manager? bk T (215)
390103 2005-09-23 01:38:00 I'm not very clued up about this but I think it's a mistake to assume that this is only to do with software. A bit of a hunt around for "HTTP SSL hardware" suggests it's not exclusively to do with software.
