390114 2005-09-22 11:44:00 I suppose at the time the total cost of everything at the next level was too much, besides if I was going to get 939 I'd want dual channel and PCI-E, and that would defeat the purpose of the 6600GT AGP I'd just got... and those new 939 boards are the wrong colour :stare: hehe

Well i'll try taking the board and everything out tomorrow to check for accidental shorting to ground, can't be bothered doing it this late now.

No No the 939 baord comes in AGP as well, I have a K8NSC MB AGP paid $140 (overclocks very well) . And the CPU was $5 cheaper than the 754 version .

Well I hope you get it sorted, no doubt you were looking forward to giveing it a run, I know how it feels having to wait .

390116 2005-09-24 05:25:00 There doesn't appear to be anything shorting out, so expecting it is the ram, how would I go about proving that the ram is the problem? Agent_24 (57)

I doubt it is the ram as you have tried two different brands. You do get the odd compatability issue, but its unlikely you have struck it twice.

Looks like you have covered your basis, might be time to take it back for RMA.

390118 2005-09-25 02:24:00 Well the ram stick that is mine, the frist one I tried doesn't work in other computers, so I guess it is broken... And maybe my friends ram I tried just wasn't compatible? Agent_24 (57)

Ahh right, yea that's definately possible. I guess if you don't have the resources (a third stick) and other parts to eliminate further, then returning is proabable still your best and fastest option.
