| 390516 | 2005-09-24 03:21:00 | What is Java2 Runtime Environment SE V1 4.2_03. and what is it used for. Does it have any connection with something/body called Borland something or other?? What exactly is/are JAVA files? Sorry for vagueness. | katharinem (3459) | ||
| 390517 | 2005-09-24 03:46:00 | Java runtime is a replacement for Microsoft's Virtual Machine . (It deals with Java) . Some sites wont work properly without it . Some people prefer using it rather than installing SP1 (which installs Java, as part of its install) . Since XP doesnt install Java by default . And SP1a, or SP2 doesnt install Java either . I dont think it has anything to do with Borland . If you use this version of Java, it may pay to update to 1 . 5 . 0 . 0 . 5 http://www . sun . com |

Therefore it is quite useful as several programs (mainly one's loaded online) use it. Borland is another developer who make compilers and other things (biggest product is delphi I think). The companies are unrelated. |
