1390880 2014-12-25 22:56:00 Trying to connect Galaxy S4 to laptop running 8.1 They can "see" each other but the phone asks for confirmation that a 6 digit number is the correct password. This number changes each time. There is no box or provision to check or enter this number on either device. Where can I find the correct number and where to enter it??? bugalugs67 (9647)

1390882 2014-12-26 00:09:00 Forget Bluetooth and use a cable, it's great for headsets and keyboards etc but terrible for file transfer and the like. dugimodo (138)
1390883 2014-12-26 04:52:00 NO Internet, no cable so only way out is laptop to phone and out.

Both can see and identify each other but won't accept handshake.
Phone to remote speaker went perfectly.

+1 - if you're wanting to use it for internet this is the easiest way by far.
If you want to transfer stuff back and forth use a cable, the charging cable that comes with the phone does the trick. You can also tether the phone with the same cable to share the internet connection but the hotspot option is actually easier most times.
both ways work better than bluetooth.

1390886 2014-12-26 05:14:00 Shortage of skills. bugalugs67 (9647)
1390887 2014-12-26 05:49:00 The option maybe under settings / wifi. Enable it. It may or should give you a password. Connect it to the laptop, with the pw. After you change the security to WPA2 or higher Speedy Gonzales (78)
