| 1378613 | 2014-07-06 02:00:00 | Pulling my hair out over this (and thankfully it's too short to get a good grip!) ;) These fittings are from a Rimu flexible slat bed that we bought from an outfit in Tauranga many years ago - I believe they have gone out of business in the meantime. The hold the headboard and foot of the bed to the frame sides, but a couple have broken and made the bed unstable. The first image is a dowel for which I need a minimum of two replacements (note the metal thread at the base, rather than the more typical and coarser wood thread). In addition, if I can get replacements, I will need a similar number of cam locks (second image). If I can't get this type of dowel/cam lock combo any more, I would be happy to replace all eight dowels/cams in the style per the third image (although I would need to ensure they had the metal thread style). I have Googled and visited numerous nuts and bolts specialist shops but as yet have been unable to source replacements. I have found shorter versions (up to 45mm) but nothing like the 50mm that this set are... Can anyone please advise where I might find these? 582258235824 |

| 1378614 | 2014-07-06 04:30:00 | Why not ask another bed manufacturer? Or if that doesn't work out, ask an engineering place if they can make it for you? |

Cheers - I have already approached the bed shops in Wairau Park with no success... Last resort would be getting someone to manufacture for me... There MUST be a supplier out there somewhere though - it's not as if dowel/camlock fittings are rare.... |

| 1378617 | 2014-07-06 05:41:00 | Any joinery workshop will have them. I have thrown dozens away when working as a joiner. They are cams and dowels sometimes also called camlocks | gary67 (56) | ||

I made up a simple table lamp stand and thought I had done a good job, Huh? they didn't match up and now am left with a loose top... Perhaps replace it with a four inch nail? LL |

| 1378622 | 2014-07-06 10:23:00 | Have you searched Google Images? (www.google.co.nz 253A%252F%252Fwww.profastukltd.com%252Fup%252Fcam-dowels.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.profastukltd.c om%252Fcam-dowels-cam-locks.html%3B310%3B295) Specifically after uploading your images. They seem to made/supplied from Sweden (Clas Ohlson brand) and the UK (e.g. Profast). Note though - I have found some UK suppliers supply - I think - Asian made products for specialty fittings/tools - as evident by their dominance in ebay (UK ebay sellers) What I do is search if they have a ebay/Aliexpress store for ease of purchasing. Or contact them. |
