1378425 2014-07-04 22:19:00 For Gods sake flying a helicopter around Afghanistan with people armed with SA18 and Stingers let alone RPGs and MGs must be the most dangerous occupation in the world. The two princes have both put their asses on the line. Remember the words of New Zealands hunter author Rex Forester helicopters are accidents waiting to happen. prefect (6291)

+1

I think Harry was taken off the front line more to protect his comrades than himself. All the Taliban focus would have been on downing any aircraft even remotely suspected of carrying the then third in line to the British throne.

1378427 2014-07-05 03:57:00 Please elaborate. I had no idea New Zealand First was race based?

As for my beloved Winston, let me make it clear I don’t love any of them, indeed I am trying to find the lesser of all the evils and trust me, it ain't easy. :D
Agree with that last part - they're all pretty bad!

But, as to the first part....well, he's mighty keen on restricting the inflow of Chinese to the country ;)

I don’t think it is Racism as such, rather a matter of trying to stop us becoming tenants in our own country and from that angle I think he has a very valid point. ;)

Well the following is on record:

NZ First leader Winston Peters has laid down the price of joining the next Government - be it National or Labour.

He wants to axe pro-Maori policies, which he compares to the South African apartheid.

Mr Peters made his demands at Ratana, where politicians made their annual pilgrimage today.

"When this campaign's over, the party that will hold the balance of political responsibility will be NZ First," he says.

"Where is this going to go, when very close to the death of Nelson Mandela, we are heading down the path that he opposed in South Africa?"

That means getting rid of the Maori flag flying on Government buildings, Maori units in prison and the health and welfare system, Whanau Ora, which is aimed at Maori.

"We will deplace and replace and restore the law so that it's the same for everybody," says Mr Peters.

Big call but I like it. :)

Nah. Two different questions. First is should non residents be able to buy property in NZ - my personal view is sure, provided Kiwis can buy property in that country as well, otherwise nope.
Second is about immigration, or more specifically immigration by Chinese. Very different questions.

And we all know Winston keeps his promises.....remember the baubles of office? ;)

1378433 2014-07-05 11:32:00 What makes the judge's decision more useless, is that the Maori King (or Queen) is not a hereditary position but an elected one.
The only reason why the current King took over from his mother is that Tuku Morgan saw it as an opportunity for him to be the "power behind the throne" and pushed very hard for him to be voted in.

Unlikely (hopefully) that he can do that twice and with luck, they may get someone with a brain and plenty of plain common sense when the current King moves on.

Well, from what I've been told your system has solved the problem because we can't buy property in many overseas countries at all, including China.

I'm told that the best we can do in China is lease land or property and the leases are ambiguous and stacked heavily in favour of the owners.

I think the average Kiwi would have a heart attach if they realised just how much of NZ's prime land and how many businesses were already owned overseas.
