| 1379033 | 2014-07-12 02:53:00 | Can anyone recommend a phone app that can record your mileage in NZ? We would love to do away with the paper files, photocopies, etc. It would be great to hear of other people's experience with these apps, also. Thanks :-) | Raewyn (946) | ||

Can record trip distance - average, stationery, per trip, etc. Also tracks/log your travel on Google Maps (map view on the program). Optionally k/litre, miles/gallon, and dozen of other live (real time info), parameters (PID's) e.g. revs, coolant temp, voltage, fuel trims, speed, O2 sensors, throttle etc. Displayed on charts, gauges, digital, bar charts, etc. includes summary widgets and addons. All data can be imported to a worksheet (e.g. Google drive) or on the developers website - torque bhp. (http://torque-bhp.com/) The map is quite useful as is the data points for scatter plots or regression analysis, depending on what you log. And can read any stored or pending engine fault codes. Helps to set up your car/engine profile. You need the OBD-11 Bluetooth RLM 327 adapter (goo.gl) - 16 pin for the car's diagnostic port. Got mine on ebay for about 12 dollars - Generic Chinese ones that still work good after 3 months daily use. Otherwise > 60 dollars for branded adapters. Assuming your vehicle is post 1996 with the 16 pin diagnostic port. The free version torque lite does logging, but don't think it includes the map and trip/mileage data, and live x - y charts, but does include some real time ecu, gps and sensor parameter data. |

I did find a place called Google Play that had a few mileage-type apps, so I'll pass them onto my work colleagues. | Raewyn (946) | ||

Ah ok, well for future reference Google Play apps are for Android only and the Apple/iTunes App Store is for iDevices only. The App Store (Apple) has 7 that came up when I searched. It will just depend on what phones your colleagues use as to what apps they get. Xero also do mileage tracking on their software. They are a very successful Wellington based online accounting company that does apps for iPhone and Android. (www.xero.com) |

They have been a one stop shop for small business accounting online and mobile for quite a while now. Their CEO Rod Drury is a very successful entrepreneur. |
