| 391302 | 2005-09-27 05:48:00 | I'm doing my own ADSL line splitter technician install, stuff paying $150-$250, especially in my case where the line comes in next to the computer. I've sourced a line splitter (proper install one) and was just wondering if someone can confirm the installation details. -There must be nothing between my incoming line pair and the ADSL outlet, it is a straight-through feed. -The ADSL splitter feeds the phone line The phone lines must pass through the splitter/filter to isolate the low impedance telephones from the line to the ADSL outlet so as to preserve the amplitude of the high frequency ADSL signal. I was also wondering if it matters which way round it is wired. There is an orange and white pair and a blue and white pair. Which one connects to the incoming side?, and which connects to the phone side?. I'm also going to upgrade my phone wiring to a 2wire system with cat5e so it should be all good. Cheers |
