The other PC here, so it says in the manual, only supports PC1600/PC2100/PC2700 ram, but it's running on 1 GB DDR 400 ram .

It'll most probably take the memory down to 333 speed .

Altho, some mobos may NOT like DDR ram it cant handle . And may not run .

Yes this is true but some boards will clock the ram down to 320MHz, I ran 2 DDR400 modules along with a 333MHz 256MB module and the 2 DDR400's clocked down to 320MHz.

In general though the RAM should clocked down to 333MHz.
