391518 2005-09-28 11:10:00 I think that what Tweak'e was suggesting was using msconfig (from Win 98, if you can get a copy) to disable/remove as much as possible from the startup folder. Make a list of its contents first, then if you get a successful startup try adding them back one at a time and restarting after each. It might also be worth checking out the system hardware list in case it is choking over something that may have been removed or for which the driver may have been corrupted. Robin S_ (86)

391520 2005-09-29 02:39:00 Win95 is just old, not olde.

I'd take the modem out. Uninstall anyhting to do with networking and modems assuming you can.
If not you may have to reinstall Win95 again.
I'd be inclined to get Win98 for it though - TM usually have some.

True, I give away a bit of gear to early childhood centres, Though I have found that they normally have far better gear then what I am trying to give them, or have some busy body involved who decides to tell me that not only do I get to give them something but I then owe them something to go along with it...along the lines of replacement and suport. Strange attitude so I don't bother unless they approach me. Some people insist on looking a gift horse in the mouth or have some superiority issues that need working out.

My last charity drive was to get 7 refurbished computers into IHC houses, and with the help of some locals that visit this forum we easily done so.

I reckon we should have a user defined and voted end of year Boardies Awards .

Met's the big hearted <ooops I cant say that> guy that he is, would get my vote for philanthropist of the year and, up & coming banee and, most promising speller ;)

Joe, as there has been untold evidence over the years since 95 was introduced to the world, bundle it up and send it back from whence it came, for a refund as not fit for purpose .
