| 392256 | 2005-09-30 08:19:00 | Got an Asus Laptop running off a wireless network at home through a Linksys Router and it works well. I'm trying to get my HP Photosmart 1000 Printer to work with IR. Laptop supports it and detects the printer correctly and IR is selected in the printers settings but when sending a print job I get this error message after about 2 secs: "The transfer failed. An error occured while Wireless Link was connecting to the other device. No connection could be made because the target machine acvtively refused it" The infrared LED on the printer doesn't seem to flicker but it must be working as the Lappy finds it OK Could there be a conflict with the Linksys Router? I've tried lowering the IR connection speed but it makes no difference. Any help would be appreciated, I've googled & HP'd myself to death with no joy |

M$ technical solution cracked me up, and I qoute: "WORKAROUND To work around this problem, disconnect and then re-connect the IR connection until the IR connection succeeds." I could be 100 and still not print a page! wot a bunch of tossers |
